Police are renewing calls for public assistance to locate 81-year-old David Johnston, who has been missing since March and was last sighted in the Clarence Valley region.

David was last spoken to by a family member via phone around 4pm on Sunday 16 March 2025. When he failed to make further contact, concerns quickly escalated due to his age and existing medical conditions.

On Wednesday 19 March 2025, officers from Parramatta Police Area Command began an investigation into his disappearance. CCTV footage later confirmed David was at a service station in Halfway Creek 3.39am on Tuesday 18 March 2025. He was last seen that morning driving west along Kungala Road, Kungala.

David is believed to be travelling in a grey Nissan Qashqai, registered in New South Wales with the number plate DVX78M.

Despite widespread inquiries and two earlier public appeals, his whereabouts remain unknown. Police continue to search and are urging residents across the Mid North Coast and Far North Coast regions to remain vigilant.

David is described as Caucasian in appearance, with white hair, no facial hair, and blue-grey eyes.

If you have seen David, his vehicle, or have any information that may assist in locating him, please contact Grafton Police Station or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can be provided anonymously.

Even the smallest detail could make a significant difference in reuniting David with his family.
