New Midwife Clinic Opens in Yamba, Offering Inclusive Pregnancy Care Closer to Home

Expectant parents in Yamba and the surrounding areas can now access dedicated, inclusive maternity care locally, with NSW Health opening a new Midwife Clinic at the Yamba Community Health Centre.

Operating every Monday, the clinic provides personalised, high-quality pregnancy care close to home, no matter where you plan to give birth. It is designed to make safe, supportive, and affirming care more accessible for all individuals and families across the region.

Backed by the medical teams at Grafton Base Hospital and Lismore Base Hospital, the clinic offers coordinated care throughout pregnancy, ensuring continuity and connection across each stage of the journey.

Midwives at the Yamba clinic can also collaborate with local GPs through shared care arrangements, allowing clients to continue seeing their regular doctor while accessing specialist maternity support.

“Having a local midwife clinic means expectant parents can receive expert care and guidance without needing to travel far, all within a welcoming, community-based setting,” a spokesperson from Northern NSW Local Health District said.

The new clinic reflects NSW Health’s ongoing commitment to improving regional maternity services and supporting growing families with compassionate, inclusive care.

Appointments are available each Monday at the Yamba Community Health Centre. To book, contact the Grafton Maternity team on (02) 6641 8490.

Everyone expecting a baby is welcome.
