Police have arrested a man following a fatal crash in Ulmarra on Tuesday afternoon.
Just before 5pm, emergency services were called to the Ulmarra Showground on Coldstream Street, around 15 kilometres north of Grafton, after reports a white four-wheel drive had struck a pedestrian.
Officers from the Coffs/Clarence Police District attended the scene, where they were told the vehicle continued south along Big River Way towards Grafton after the incident.
Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, a 55-year-old woman died at the scene from her injuries.
A crime scene was established, and police launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Following inquiries, officers located a white 4WD in South Grafton about 7.40am today (Wednesday 29 October) and seized the vehicle.
A 50-year-old man was arrested and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station. Investigations are continuing.
