The upcoming Maclean Town Meeting promises to be an important forum for community members, local organisations, and Councillors to come together and shape the future of Maclean and surrounding areas.

Hosted by the Maclean District Business Chamber, the meeting will reflect on the past 12 months of progress, present a refreshed strategic vision for the year ahead, and invite open discussion around key priorities and challenges affecting the region.

Among the main topics on the agenda:

  • Maclean District Business Chamber Strategy: A look at what’s been achieved over the past year and an outline of a forward-thinking strategy designed to support local business resilience, economic development, and community collaboration.
  • Youth and Community Engagement: Initiatives such as a potential  Army Cadets Unit and expanded youth activities will be brainstormed, with calls for increased support and involvement.
  • Protecting the Heritage Streetscape: With Maclean’s historic charm being one of its greatest assets, there will be discussions around preserving the town’s heritage character while accommodating future development.
  • Cameron Park and the Riverside Precinct: A key talking point will be the significant reduction in budget allocation for Cameron Park development from $250,000 to just $60,000 and what this means for the Cameron Park Masterplan and the timeline for this public amenities upgrade. Has Maclean been forgotten again? Updates on the Riverside Precinct project will also be provided.
  • Community Safety and Crime: A local crime update will be shared, with residents encouraged to voice concerns and hear about plans to improve safety and support for volunteer emergency services, whose numbers have been steadily declining.
  • Dynamic Events and Fundraisers: The meeting will also preview exciting community events on the horizon, including the return of the Maclean Christmas Fair, the popular Duelling Pianos fundraiser, and a newly announced Western-themed Murder Mystery Night.

Councillors and representatives from local organisations will be in attendance, making this a valuable opportunity for community members to share their views, ask questions, and be part of Maclean’s future direction.

All residents are encouraged to attend, be informed, and get involved. Your voice matters. If you wish to speak at this event, please reach out to Maclean District Business Chamber.
